The Indian Blanket Fabric Collage is one of the patterns used for our Intro to Collage class because it is both simple and stunning.

To create a beautiful Indian Blanket fabric collage, you will need a variety of reds, yellows and golds, greens, browns and just a bit of burgundy, plus a bit of black and white for your bee. Use craps or an eighth of a yard of a good variety of prints. We have made it often with batiks. Any print that reads to color you are looking for will work beautifully. Fussy-cut butterflies, create the included bee collage design or other motifs to finish it off. One fat quarter of a contrasting color is the background.
Supplies required: Very sharp scissors, such as Karen K. Buckley scissors, at least 2 yards or more of Steam-a-Seam 2 (Lite or regular), an applique pressing sheet (or parchment paper), a fine tip sharpie, hot iron and misting spray bottle of water.
Recommended: Light tablet or box or a bright window for tracing.
Linda began teaching fabric collage about 2016 after requests came pouring in by customers at the former Wimberley Stitch Studio. Teaching other commercial patterns led to her creating simple patterns with beautiful results. You can create collage because there are “No Rules!” If you feel you need a hand to learn the techniques, Linda teaches classes and workshops, as well as doing programs for quilt guilds.
