Longarm Information:

How much does it cost to have my quilt top longarm quilted?

2.8 cents per square inch for an Edge-to-Edge design (Length x Width of your quilt top x .028 – 48 x 60 lap quilt = 2880 sq inches x .028 = 80.64)
5 – 8 cents per square inch for custom designs. This includes different quilting in blocks and borders and ruler work, or thread color changes. Price per square inch will be determined during intake depending on what you would like done. I don’t prefer to do ruler work on a longarm because it is tedious, but I will consider it depending on the quilt design. I can use the computer to do outlining rather than using rulers.
Thread fee is $4 per bobbin used. How many bobbins will be determined by the density of the quilt design you choose. A very open design like meander might be one or two bobbins and a very dense design might be 7 or 8 bobbins. It is usually 3 or 4 bobbins.
Batting – Unless you bring your batting, I use Warm & Natural 100% cotton batting, which is usually cheaper because I buy a large roll. Queen (92″) is $16.99 per yard. King (120″) is 19.99 per yard. I prefer a batting that does not tear or separate easily. I gently tug the batting as I roll it on the frame to prevent wrinkles and some batting is too delicate and pulls apart easily.

What do I need to do to have Linda longarm my quilt? (please read the NOTE at the bottom)

I scissor trim your quilt right along the quilt top edge as I am taking it off the frame. This makes it ready for binding. If you do not want it trimmed, please let me know during intake.
Bring your completed quilt top, pressed and threads trimmed. Bring your backing which needs to be at least 4″ bigger on each side. Pieced back seams are mounted horizontally on the frame.
I require a $50 non-refundable cash or check deposit which is applied to the total.
Turn around time depends on the number of quilts I have in front of you. We will discuss that during intake. If it is a rush of sooner than 3 weeks, you will add 25% to the quilting fee. Christmas rush has an October 15 deadline.
Quilt Binding is 20 cents per linear inch (L+L+W+W x .20) Cut sufficient 2 1/2″ strips for double-fold machine stitched binding.
When completed, I will email you an online invoice from paypal, but prefer cash or check because of credit card fees. If you cannot bring cash or check at delivery, you may use the paypal payment before delivery.

NOTE: No one is a perfect quilter.

Often quilts are not perfectly square or have a little bias stretch. Perfection is not why we do what we do. It is the joy of creating. I am not the quilt police and I love your creations. That said, I cannot see some of the issues until it is pinned on the frame and sometimes until I have done a lot of the quilting. I can usually minimize most imperfections in the quilting, but I cannot “quilt it out” completely.
